The Engineering Division is an integral part of the Community Development team. Engineering works to maintain the quality of development in Williamson County while assisting developers and the general public in interpreting development regulations and implementing associated requirements.

This department is responsible for support to the County Commission, Stormwater Appeals Board, Highway Commission, Planning Commission, and other boards, for the routine processes of administering and interpreting the Stormwater Management Regulations, Subdivision Regulations, Zoning Ordinance, FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) Regulations, engineering practices, and for specific research as the need arises.

One of the main duties of the Department is to review and approve all construction plans for new development. This review now includes storm water quality requirements.
