Grassland Village Special Area Plan

WHY DO WE PLAN?

The Grassland Village Special Area Plan is a direct result of the comprehensive planning efforts undertaken by Williamson County in its Comprehensive Land Use Plan, adopted in August of 2007.  The Plan is not intended to bring about new development, but rather is intended to ensure that if, and when, new development does occur, such a development is consistent with the desired character, as expressed by the community and as outlined in the Plan.

THE GRASSLAND VILLAGE ZONING STANDARDS HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!

One of the primary directives from the Plan is to create a set of development (zoning) standards for the Village, to help implement the Plan.

Following the adoption and endorsement of the Grassland Village Special Area Plan last Spring, County Staff and the Grassland Citizens Advisory Committee got to work drafting a set of Development Standards to help make the Plan a reality.  These standards were presented as a proposed zoning map and text amendment during two public hearings.

On September 10, 2015, the Williamson County Regional Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend the standards for adoption by the County.

On October 12, 2015, the Williamson County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt the standards, thus creating four distinct zoning districts for the Grassland Village.  These standards will become effective on January 1, 2016.

Adopted Amendments - effective January 1, 2016
