02/22 - Williamson County Growth plan Update - Advisory Group - Feb.18. 2022 Post Symposium Group Discussion: https://youtu.be/XqdSLwPxIog
The Williamson County Comprehensive Land Use Plan, which was adopted in the spring of 2020, calls for the creation of a regional (within Williamson County) growth management plan in collaboration with the Municipalities (Brentwood, Fairview, Franklin, Nolensville, Spring Hill and Thompson’s Station) within the County. That is what the County and the Municipalities have been working on. Specifically, that work will consist of evaluating appropriate locations for future growth that can be served by adequate and timely infrastructure and public services.
To that end, there has been an assembly of an Advisory Group, with representation from the County and each Municipality as well as other stakeholders, including the business community, utility providers, agricultural interests, and the school district to work on this project. Meetings of this group will be recorded and posted here.
This work has the potential to result in a need and/or desire to update the Growth Plan (and subsequently the Urban Growth Boundaries (UGB’s), Planned Growth Areas (PGA’s) and Rural Areas), but that is not the focus at this time.
However, as part of this regional planning process, the County has been evaluating the Planned Growth Areas (PGA’s) and Rural Areas within the unincorporated areas outside of UGB’s and is recommending some changes based on the land use recommendations contained in the recently adopted Comprehensive Land Use Plan.
The County is seeking public comments regarding these proposed changes. Please click on the link below to review some background information, the proposed changes, and how you can provide feedback.
